The club held its September cruise Sunday 22nd. Frank and Deb led us to the Hawks Nest restaurant at the Melbourne, AR country club. 13 Corvettes participated in a great drive and lunch. Many thanks to Frank & Deb. A wonderful day!!
The club participated in the 2019 Hillbilly Chili Cook-Off in Lakeview on Saturday October 19th. We had a great turn out and other than a little rain in the afternoon it was a great day. We had 7 Corvettes from the club join in. The chili was pretty good as well.
We had six Corvettes from the club attend the car show at the annual Bridge Bash at ASU on Saturday September 21st. The club did very well in the judging. Ray & Judi and Susie & I won awards for being one of the Top Twenty cars and Larry & Bev took Best of Show!
The club held it’s July cruise Saturday July 20th. We met at the Baxter County Library and cruised to Batesville. While there we had a terrific lunch at the “Best Dam Steak House”. We had 12 Corvettes with 24 members attend. Other than the heat, it was a great day. Thanks Jim and Kay for organizing and leading the cruise!!!
Several COTO members attended the Annual Corvette Weekend April 18-19. Larry & Bev, Brian & Lisa and Dave & Susie took part. Hot Springs was a jumping place that weekend as the horse races where going on as well. The show had about 150 Corvettes in the convention center. Larry & Bev won two “Sponsor Awards”, and “Best in Class” with their 1956 Corvette.
We had nine Corvettes from the club attend the annual Lakeview Festival on Saturday 28 September. The weather was great and so was the hotdogs and popcorn. Thanks to all who attended!!
COTO members Bob & Cindy attended the Eckler’s Corvette Show in Titusville, FL. There were about 180 Corvettes attending. From our stand point here in Arkansas, the weather there was fantastic.
Bob & Cindy participated in the St. Patrick's Day parade in Melbourne Beach, FL. As usual, the weather was perfect down there.
The club had its May cruise on Saturday the 11th. Brian & Lisa led us to Summersville, MO for lunch at Savors Restaurant. We started with 8 Corvettes but ended up with 9 when a young man in a C5 from West Plains, saw us and joined the caravan. He even had lunch with us and cruised back to West Plains with us. It’s always a pleasure to meet other Corvette enthusiasts. Many thanks to Brian & Lisa, great cruise, and it didn’t even rain or snow!
Several club members took part in a impromptu cruise to Mountain View, AR. The weather was great and the cruise was great! Thanks Jack.
On March 23rd, several COTO members traveled to Branson for the First Annual Southwest Missouri Corvette Club's Corvette Show. It was indoors at the Convention Center. There were about 65 Corvettes that participated. The weather was a deterrent and kept many from making the trip. Kink and Dave won 2nd place awards in their class. We couldn't pin Randy down to get a photo of him at the show, but he provided me some great photos.
We had a great turnout at the annual Eureka Springs Corvette Rally October 5th-7th. We enjoyed great company and great weather, at least till Sunday when it rained all the way home. Thanks to everyone who participated.
Kink took part in the West Plains Car Show on Saturday the 8th of June. He won 1st Place in his class and Best of Show!!! Congratulations Kink. He is accumulating some very tall trophies of late.
We held our club’s annual Top of the Rock cruise on Sunday October 20th. It turned out to be a beautiful day. We had 10 Corvettes participate along with the Leepers in other vehicles. I would like to thank Larry and Bev for leading the cruise and making all of the reservations. This was the last cruise for 2019 and it was very enjoyable, I’m already looking forward to the next cruise in April 2020.
We finally got the April Cruise into the books. The weather was absolutely great and we had a terrific turn out. The cruise was very enjoyable and the restaurant very accommodating and pleasant. After lunch, a few of us followed Jack & Kathy to Peel where we took the ferry across the lake to Protem, MO, then back to Mountain Home. We also found out that on Saturday the 27th, Jack & Kathy and Kink & Pat went to Calico Rock to take part in the car show there. They represented the club very well by both winning 2nd place in their class.
